Governors Bay Civil Defence Thursday September 9th 2010 Lifting of boil water notice All Governors Bay water reservoirs are currently being chlorinated daily and boiling is no longer required for drinking water. If you require further information please ring Debbie Sherriff, Governors Bay Civil Defence 0274 364 117 Governors Bay Civil Defence Notice Wednesday September 8th 2010 • Power, water and sewage services are all fully operational. • Raw sewage has overflowed into the harbour. Please do not paddle or swim and keep animals out of the sea. • If the power does fail in your area then assume that the sewage pumps are not working. It is OK to flush number one’s and use grey water, but please don’t flush number two’s (use a bucket and bury the contents or flush at a later time). • Our water quality is currently being assessed so assume it is contaminated and boil all drinking water for at least 3 minutes including water for brushing teeth. • Governors Bay jetty has been inspected by CCC engineers and access is now restricted due to piles parting company with the jetty. • Report any water or sewer problems to CCC phone 941 8999 and power problems to Orion phone 0800 363 9898. • Continue to keep in contact with your neighbours and support each other. The earthquake and aftershocks have been a very frightening experience for everyone. If you require further information please ring Debbie Sherriff, Governors Bay Civil Defence 0274 364 117 Welcome to the Governors Bay website.
